Sqn (-) remains at Nui Dat. Troop at Horseshoe, Troop supporting 7RAR in AO Penny, Troop operating with 2/25 (US) Bde vicinity Route 2, elements Mine Clearing Team vic 5055.

 

1400hrs:

3 Troop located 180 (+) weapon pits of varying ages from three days to three weeks.  Sign of movement within three days north-south.  An already known area; more digging present from last investigation.  No contact.

 

2215hrs:

2 Troop, supporting C Company 7RAR, engaged four to five enemy at 150m.  Enemy appeared from west.  Enemy withdrew west.  Results unknown.

 

29 April 1970:

Sqn (-) remains at Nui Dat. Troop at Horseshoe, Troop supporting 7RAR in AO Penny, Troop operating with 2/25 (US) Bde vicinity Route 2, elements Mine Clearing Team vic 5055.

 

2025hrs:

2 Troop sighted light from Long Hais being signalled to and answered by light in Hoi My village.  Area engaged with three rounds and light extinguished.

 

30 April 1970:

0900hrs:

Relief vehicle moving to mine clearing team located road blocks made of wire strung across road.  Blocks pulled with no result.

 

6 May 1970:

Sqn (-) remains Nui Dat. 1 Troop supporting road construction Route 2, 2 Troop NDP Timothy, 3 Troop Horseshoe, 4 Troop operating with Tango Force, elements with mine clearing team.

 

1600hrs:

3 Troop located and destroyed two bunkers--last occupied 2-3 weeks previously.

 

7 May 1970:

Sqn (-) remains Nui Dat. 1 Troop supporting road construction Route 2, 2 Troop and 3 Troop supporting 7RAR in AO Penny, 4 Troop operating with Tango Force in AO Tulip, elements with mine clearing team.

 

0415hrs:

3 Troop contact from Ambush Position with 1-2 enemy.  Also at 0730hrs.  Sweep in morning  revealed drag marks two bodies.

 

8 May 1970:

9 May 1970:

1430hrs:

3 Troop operating with Assault Pioneers 7RAR on reaction to a bunker system.  Located 30 bunkers of varying ages with no physical contact.  M16 detonated in area resulted in infantry 'dustoff'.

 

1620hrs:

2 Troop operating with 7 Platoon, C Company 7RAR located unoccupied bunker and located (?) 11 bunkers.  No contact.

 

2045hrs:

4 Troop engaged lights without any known result.  Morning sweep failed to give result.

 

2134hrs:

1 Troop engaged lights with unknown result.  Sweep in morning failed to produce result.

 

13 May 1970:

Sqn (-) remains Nui Dat. 1 Troop supporting road construction Route 2, 2 Troop with clearing team from NDP Bridget, 3 Troop Horseshoe, 4 Troop operating with Tango Force in AO Tulip. 

 

2030hrs:

2 Troop engaged light source and light was extinguished.  No other result known.
