5 December 1969:

B Sqn (-) remains at 1ATF base.  One troop op con to land clearing team in Long Green. One troop remains in AO Grace op con to 5RAR.    One troop op con 6RAR/NZ (ANZAC) in AO Gulliver.  Elements remain Horseshoe Hill.  One troop Ready Reaction Force standby and conducting training ops with 8RAR.

7 December 1969:

As above.  Contact.  At 1133hrs, 1 Troop and 5 Platoon B Company 5RAR contacted approx 10 VC in bunkers.  Three VC were KIA when a tank of 1 Troop crushed a bunker.  Result of contact: three VC KIA (BC); one Aust WIA (5RAR). 

 

8 December 1969:

9 December 1969:

B Sqn (-) remains at 1ATF base.  One troop op con to land clearing team in Long Green. One troop remains in AO Grace op con to 5RAR.  One troop Ready Reaction Force standby based in Nui Dat. 

 

10 December 1969:

B Sqn (-) remains at 1ATF base.  One troop op con to land clearing team in Long Green. One troop remains in AO Grace op con to 5RAR. 

 

11 December 1969:

B Sqn (-) remains at 1ATF base.  One troop op con to land clearing team in Long Green. One troop remains in AO Grace op con to 5RAR.  One troop supports RF in long Hai Hills area.  One troop op con 8RAR in AO Ashgrove.

 

At 1600hrs,

B Sqn suffered one WIA from a gunshot wound to stomach.  Incident occurred to a member of the troop supporting RF operations in Long Hai area.  This troop consisted of two SHQ tanks and one tank bulldozer, less blade.  Troop was commanded by Sgt R Browning.  During the course of the day, troop saw and engaged VC (members of C1 D445) and were advised by FAC that [they] had killed three or four VC.

 SHQ(-) remains at FSPB Barbara.  One  troop op con to land clearing team in Long Green.  One troop deployed op con to 5RAR [sic] in AO Asgrove. One  troop supporting RF operation in Long Hais.

 

18 December 1969:

SHQ(-) remains at FSPB Barbara. On e troop op con to land clearing team in Long Green.  One troop deployed op con to 8RAR in AO Asgrove.  One  troop supporting RF operation in Long Hais.

 

19 December 1969:

SHQ(-) remains at FSPB Barbara. One  troop op con to land clearing team in Long Green.  One troop deployed op con to 8RAR.   One troop remains of RF operation in Long Hais.

 

20 December 1969:

SHQ(-) remains at FSPB Barbara.  One  troop op con to land clearing team in Long Green.  One troop deployed op con to 8RAR in AO Ashgrove.   One troop returned to Nui Dat from RF operation in Long Hais.

 

21 December 1969:

B Sqn (-) returned to Nui Dat.  One troop op con to land clearing team in Long Green.  One troop deployed op con to 8RAR in AO Ashgrove.  One troop with elements of SHQ plus elements of B Sqn 3 Cav Regt and HQ 1ATF Defence Platoon commenced recce and ambush ops in the Duc Thanh AO.

 

22 December 1969:

B Sqn (-) remains Nui Dat.  One  troop op con to land clearing team in Long Green.  One troop deployed op con to 8RAR in AO Ashgrove.  Elements of SHQ, one troop plus elements of B Sqn 3 Cav Regt and 1ATF Defence Platoon continued recce and ambush ops in the Duc Thanh AO.

 

23 December 1969:

B Sqn (-) remains Nui Dat.  One  troop op con to land clearing team in Long Green.  One troop deployed op con to 8RAR in AO Ashgrove.  One troop plus elements of B Sqn 3 Cav Regt and 1ATF Defence Platoon under command, continue recce and ambush ops in the Duc Thanh AO.
